Meaning: The singer uses the simile to describe the feeling of her romantic partner entering her life. Similar to a ray of light, her partner's appearance provides comfort in a time of darkness

Meaning: This person probably means that this person helped guide the way and uncover a path to truth for the writer.

Meaning: The sentiment of this simile is that love isn't always a well-defined science.

Figures of Speech
1. Metaphor
“My wings are broken / And fell against the sky”
The broken wings are a metaphor for lost hopes, dreams, or motivation. 

2. Personification
“My freezing breath, frozen memories”
Memories are described as if they can freeze.

3. Hyperbole
“Erase me from here and set me free”
This exaggeration shows how overwhelmed the speaker feels.


Meaning Of The Song
"Homesick" is about feeling lost, broken, and desperately longing for a place of comfort, safety, and freedom, using metaphors of broken wings, cold environments, and disorientation to express deep yearning for home and escape from current struggles. It captures the melancholic human experience of missing a familiar sense of belonging and the courage to fly.
