Part 3
Passive voice is a sentence form where the focus is on the action or the object, not the person who does it.
It is made using to be + V3.
Example:
The cake is eaten. (We focus on the cake, not who eats it.)
1. The window has already been opened (present perfect)
2. Her room was being painted at that time (past progressive)
3. He has been brought to the airport (present perfect)
4. The bike is currently being repaired (present progressive)
5. The cows are fed each morning (present simple)
6. The novel was written about a hundred years ago (past simple)
7. The food must be placed in the fridge (modal passive)
8. A press conference will be held in the afternoon tomorrow (future simple)
9. Our new house has just been completed (present perfect)
10. The thief had been noticed by the policeman (past perfect)
11. The story is often retold by grandmother (present simple)
12. The package was delivered by a good friend (past simple)
13. He has not been seen in a long time (present perfect)
14. My dad will be given a new job later this week (future simple)
15. Breakfast is served between 7 and 10 (present simple)
Conclusion :
In conclusion, learning passive voice helps us understand how to focus on the action or the object rather than the person who performs it. By using the structure “to be + past participle (V3)”, we can change active sentences into passive ones correctly.
